The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI)
was established by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) in 2005 to reinforce the capacities of civil society in the sub-region.
WACSI’s mission is to strengthen the institutional and operational capacity of Civil Society Organizations to engage in policy intervention and the promotion of democratic values and principles in West Africa.
The Vision is to strengthen civil society organizations as strategic partners for the promotion of democracy, good governance and national development in the sub region.
The role of WACSI is to serve as a resource centre for training, research, experience sharing and dialogue for CSOs in West Africa |

Embassy of France
Within the Embassy of France, the Office for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs (Service de Coopération et d’Action Culturelle – SCAC) is, under the authority of the Ambassador, in charge of defining, overseeing and managing France’s aid programs in Ghana in the areas of culture, language and education, higher education and research, micro-projects and governance. In these areas, the Office conducts its activities through the provision of technical assistance, training programs and grants to development projects, particularly through the Fonds de Solidarité Prioritaire. |

We do this through the formulation and implementation of policies, co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation of the performance in the sector; guided by our belief in improved productivity, efficiency, equity and prompt responsiveness to our clients. The latter comprises the labor force, employers, and people with disabilities, the disadvantaged and vulnerable. |
